//project overview
I conceptualized and worked on this project from start to finish. The goal was to promote the new character "Jabba the Hutt", as well as the new game environment "Jabba's Palace". In this project, my idea was to do a double reveal. It started with the new character reveal, and then moved him into the new environment to finally reunion with his hut squad.
//Colors
Based on the brand guideline, below is the color palette which was used in this project. Red represents the dark side, blue usually represents the light side, sometimes could also be used as neutral color. Black and white are neutral for both sides. Since the character Jabba is a dark side character, color red was used as the primary color in this video.

//Shot breakdown
Some of the highlights in this video: *Present the new character in a fun but familiar way which is similar to the Strategy Card Games. *Use a kinetic typography instead of the classic light burst effect when the new character is being revealed. *Do a match 360 turn when revealing the new game environment.
Shot 1: I wanted to present the new character in a fun but familiar way which was inspired by the Strategy Card Games. This started with the dark silhouette of the new character + some highlights of him in a 3D card. When the viewers are looking at the highlights and wondering who this character is. A light shine through, the dark fades out and we see Jabba appears in the card.

Shot 2: I wanted to use a kinetic typography instead of the classic anime light burst effect when the new character is being revealed.

//Bring the Jabba 3D model into Cinema 4D, refine the model & textures and then it back to Unity. Set up the animation, match the lighting and then Capture the sequences with alpha.
//Composite all the assets in After Effects for shot 2
Shot 3: I wanted to do a 360 match turn when revealing the new game environment. It will be transitioning from the Cantina (the standard environment) to Jabba's Palace (the new game environment) and re-unioning with his hutt squad.
//Place all the characters, set up the animations, add lighting and capture the sequences in Unity
//Create the Procedural Hexagon Transitions in After Effects for the new environment reveal
//Composite all the assets in After Effects for shot 3
